RIVER OF BOYS

Beyond the most famous series, such as the Sonatinas and the Beach Triptychs, we present here some yet unpublished records of Rio de Janeiro’s beach culture in the 1970’s and 80’s: the Ipanema Pier and its behavioral signs; Barra da Tijuca, in its
innocence of bodies lying lazily around the beach; the beauty and lightheartedness of the frescobol (locally invented, this game resembles an outdoor version of racketball), and the body of a father carrying his son for a swim in the sea.
